SRRQ Updates to Start the New Year
As the impacts of COVID-19 have reshaped our day-to-day lives and how we conduct business, The Dutra Group has been at the forefront throughout the pandemic by taking all necessary precautions to protect the health and safety of our employees while delivering essential materials to the communities we serve.
In the early days of the Shelter-in-Place order, The Dutra Group briefly halted work while we devised safety protocols that allowed our team to safely return as employees of a state-recognized Essential Infrastructure Business. Some of the projects handled by our essential workers included supplying materials for Marin General Hospital's expansion, the Marin Municipal Water District's water lines, and the rehabilitation of Sir Francis Drake Blvd. from Highway 101 to the Town of Ross, among other major public improvement projects.
As we continued supplying essential building materials throughout 2020, we also did what we could to help in times of need, from donating materials to rehabilitate trails at China Camp State Park to providing funds for the City of San Rafael's Small Business Relief Fund and the Point San Pedro Road Coalition's disaster preparedness campaign - part of our commitment to being good neighbors and community partners.
As we look ahead to the new year, our mine life extension application for the quarry will continue going through a rigorous review process. Our proposed plans would allow for a 20-year extension of the quarry's current reclamation plan while continuing all of the quarry's current operating conditions, including limited operating hours, limited daily truck trips, noise reduction systems, daily street sweeping, and a maximum annual production limit. The details of our application continue to be reviewed by the County and an independent consultant, which should be complete and subject to community review, input, and public hearings this Spring. When the time comes, we will be sure to check back in with you to ensure you are aware of what is happening and have an opportunity to learn more and provide input on our proposed plans.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call me at (415) 307-1592 or send an email. Communication with neighbors and community members is a priority for our team, and we are here to listen to your questions and concerns.
